JOHN DUNN is a wilderness explorer and photographer with a particular fascination for the Canadian Arctic. He brings his expedition images and experiences to a wide audience through multimedia lectures, magazine articles, stock photography and prints. He is perhaps best known for his pioneering traverse of Baffin Island. John's images from that epic 3,000 kilometer skiing, kayaking and hiking expedition were featured in National Geographic Magazine. He has recently completed series of expeditions on Devon Island: the subject of one of his lectures. Now, with 7500 km of sled-hauling beneath his feet, John looks forward to further northern challenges. Born in England in 1954, he graduated in geology and worked in the Australian Outback before embarking on his arctic career.
